Vickie Grierson RPT
Vickie graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1994 and has been working with sport and fitness athletes of all ages, from novice to pro, for 29 years as a registered physiotherapist in private practice. She is additionally a National Strength & Conditioning Association Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA CSCS), a certified Pilates instructor, and has earned her Health & Wellness Lifestyle Coach through York University. as a HTCP Level 2 Trainer, she was the trainer for several Clarington Girls Hockey & Clarington Minor Lacrosse teams, & designed training/injury reduction programs for Team Ontario Lacrosse.
Vickie strongly believes in the power of movement as medicine. She bases her treatments on optimizing her client’s ability to move in a way that is health & improves efficiency, creating the foundation to improve fitness, acquire the attributes important to sport performance, reduce risk of injury, & live a better life.
Vickie is also a part-time Professor in the Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist Assistant & Strength & Sport Conditioning programs at Canadore College.
A life-long learner, Vickie has completed extensive continuing education courses & certifications in physiotherapy (Manual Therapy, Functional Dry Needling, soft tissue release, & Kinesiotaping to name a few), Functional Movement Systems, Strength & Conditioning, athlete training & Pilates (mat & reformer).
Vickie recently relocated to the North Bay Area with her husband after 26 years living in the Durham Region, & are in the process of landscaping their 5 acre property. She & her husband are both avid gardeners, & spend as much time as possible working in their gardens, landscaping, & chainsawing/splitting wood.
In her spare time, Vickie stays active with weight lifting, Pilates, hiking, kayaking, & mountain biking. She enjoys cooking, especially produce from her garden, reading & capturing the beauty of nature with her camera.
