How Does Functional Movement Screen Work?
This is an assessment system using functional movement screening (FMS) and Y balance testing. This system helps make evidence-based return to sport/activity decisions, determine and categorize injury risk and track progress. FMS is a functional movement screen to evaluate movement patterns for clients and athletes. The screen is comprised of seven fundamental movement patterns that require a balance of mobility and stability, placing the individual in positions where weaknesses and imbalances become noticeable. Y Balance is a reliable testing method that easily identifies movement limitations and dysfunctions in the upper and lower extremities.
